Online counseling is an easy, convenient way to attend your sessions. Advantages to consider:
With a click you are connected with your therapist in a private, HIPAA compliant, secure session.
After the session, simply close the connection and you are back to managing your day.
Eliminate the travel time and costs.
Minimize the time away from work or other activities.
Worried that it may feel uncomfortable or difficult to have a session this way? No problem!
Here's How Telehealth Works:
Use your computer, tablet or phone.
Before your session, you will receive a link to click to take you right in to your therapist.
For computers, there is no software to download or complicated things to do.
For phones, the Simple Practice app is available in the Playstore or ITunes but still an easy click using a link at the time of your appointment.
Still not sure? Contact us and we will set up a time to test it out. We will walk you through it and give you a chance to see what it is like before you commit to an online session. Just jump into the portal and request an appointment for "Telehealth consultation".
choose a private space that is free of interruptions and provided privacy as much as possible.
be sure your device is charged and/or connected to a power source sufficient for the hour.
Use of a strong internet connection is encouraged to reduce the chance of screen freezing.
Be sure to close all the apps or programs that may be running in the background
Get comfortable - it is truly "come as you are" and pets are even welcome if you like.
Face to face sessions remain my preferred method of counseling. Phone sessions are also an effective means of working through problems for clients with established relationship with their counselor. Video sessions are great if both parties have very strong internet. Otherwise, session focus can be interrupted with screens freezing and audio problems. We want you to be comfortable and get the most out of your session.
